"New York Noir: The History of Black New York" is a 2009 Documentary movie directed by Marino Amoruso and starring by Ken Grimbal. This critically acclaimed film examines the history of New York's African-American citizens and culture from the early 1600s through today. Featured are segments on civil rights, politics, business, military heroes, the Harlem Renaissance and much more. Above all else, the film honors and pays tribute to the many great contributions African-Americans have made to New York the nation and indeed, the world.
